Homecoming Scotland - Stornoway
In August of 2009, the Scottish Lion 78th Fraser Highlanders Pipe Band will descend on Stornoway.
Not the official residence of the leader of Her Majesties Loyal Opposition in Ottawa, rather Steornabhagh (Stornoway) on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides.
The SL78th have accepted an invitation to visit Stornoway the weekend before the 2009 World Pipe Band Championships, to participate in celebrations related to “Homecoming Scotland”.
“We have been invited by the Stornoway Amenity Trust to come to the Isle of Lewis and participate in their home coming celebrations. This is a fantastic opportunity for the band to visit one of the few remaining places where traditional Celtic music and the Gaelic culture still thrives” said Pipe Major Bill Livingstone.
“I can think of few better ways to begin our annual Scotland trek in 2009 and want to invite our friends, fans and all expats to join us as we go home to Stornoway and Scotland, come along and be part of the homecoming” added Livingstone.
