Scott began drumming at the age of 14 with the Fort Erie Legion Pipeband. The drum corps was instructed by Tim Murphy ( then member of the 78th Fraser Highlanders).
Tim left shortly there after and Scott continued learning from remaining members Mike Putman and Scott Kirkwood.
The Band then hired Jimmy Agnew to teach the corps and that was when Scott new what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. Jimmy Agnew became Scotts mentor, idol and friend.
At age 15 Scott would become lead drummer and the band played in grade 4 for the '93 season. The next season Scott joined the Niagara Regional Police Pipeband where Jimmy Agnew was also teaching and playing lead. Scott played under Jimmy for two years, then at age 18 Scott became lead drummer after Jimmy's judging and playing were starting to conflict. Scott would play lead for two years with the band and go on to win the North American Championship drumming title at Maxville. Scott decided to step down as lead drummer but stayed with the band for the '98 season playing under Craig Stewart.
In 1999 Scott joined the Toronto Police Pipeband where he played under Alan Savage. For the next 3 years the drum corps would consist of Chris Barr, Ryan Barr, Glen Neil, Dave Fenton, Ian Madeiros and Jeremy Keddy all now members of the SL78FH drum corps. The band had good success giving the Frasers a run for their money at some of the local contests, and the band became frequent qualifiers for the grade 1 World Championship. In 2002 Scott left the band and decided to take some time off from drumming.
In 2005 Scott got the bug again and joined the Niagara Regional Police and played under Graham Kirkwood for 3 years. Then in 2007 Scott watched the SL78FH win the World Drumming Championship and decided to join the band for the '08 season.
In solo competition Scott won every contest he played in from grade 3 to grade 1 except for two, and he currently competes in the open grade.
Scott lives in Niagara Falls with his girlfriend Samantha and is a server in a fine dining restaurant.
